SCHUMI: VETTEL CAN WIN THE TITLE

“I think it helps to think of a fact which I was always sticking to during my career: It is not over until it is over; you have to fight until the end,” Schumacher told his website.
“At Ferrari we had that experience very successfully over many years, and I am convinced it will be like this again this time. Sebastian as well will probably share this view because he still has the chance to win the title.
This alone is already a big success.
I am sure he will make everything possible to show a good performance in the next two races.
Mathematically everything is still possible, and I will keep my fingers crossed for him.
This F1 season has turned out to be extremely attractive again, and like probably all motorsport fans I am looking forward to seeing what will happen in the last two races.
Both championships are still open, and for me it is obviously important to see how the constructors’ championship will end – of course I hope our guys can defend their third position.” said Schumacher

SCHUMACHER EXTENDS FERRARI CONTRACT

“Yesterday in Maranello, Chairman Montezemolo and I agreed on extending our collaboration for another three years,” explained the German on his official website. “I’m very happy about it, because I always loved being part of the family Ferrari, a name that stands for passion, high quality and top-level sportiness.

“The agreement foresees that my contribution is more and more directed to the area of road cars. It was extremely nice for me to participate in the development of the Ferrari California, the 430 Scuderia and the new born 458 Italia, which will be officially presented next Tuesday at the IAA Frankfurt: I can’t wait to be part of the future projects in Maranello."

Michael cancels F1-Comeback

Consequences of bike-injuries make return impossible

"Yesterday evening, I had to inform Ferrari President Luca di Montezemolo and Team Principal Stefano Domenicali that unfortunately I'm not able to step in for Felipe. I really tried everything to make that temporary comeback possible, however, much to my regret it didn't work out. Unfortunately we did not manage to get a grip on the pain in the neck which occurred after the private F1-day in Mugello, even if medically or therapeutically we tried everything possible.

The consequences of the injuries caused by the bike-accident in February, fractures in the area of head and neck, unfortunately have turned out to be still too severe. That is why my neck cannot stand the extreme stresses caused by Formula 1 yet. This are the clear results of the examinations we did on the course of the past two weeks and the final examination yesterday afternoon. As there were no improvements after the day in Mugello, I decided at short notice on Sunday to do that thorough examination already yesterday.

I am disappointed to the core. I am awfully sorry for the guys of Ferrari and for all the fans which crossed fingers for me. I can only repeat that I tried everything that was within my power. All I can do now is to keep my fingers crossed for the whole team for the coming races."

Michael is karting in Lonato and having a lot of fun.

"Karting has a very good training effect, that is why today I just jumped into a testing day of the Tony Kart Team in Lonato. There is nothing better for my preparations at the moment - in terms of steering wheel forces for example Karting is even more difficult than Formula 1. And the fact that it has been boiling hot here is simulating the temparatures expected for Valencia. Luca Badoer is with me, and together we found again today that Karting is just an awful lot of fun."

Michael thanks his fans in your official web.

"I really would like to thank all my fans who keep their fingers crossed for my plans for all the positive feedback. It's incredible how much support I get from all over the world in these days. It almost feels like as if a flush of positive energy is coming over me. Compliments to all of you!
I'm currently in the midst of my preparations for the upcoming race. I already lost three kilograms even if it is also important to me to build up muscles. So all in all, the practice works pretty well. I only have to admit that my neck pinches a bit. We have to get a grip on that as health has priority - that's the clear arrangement made with Ferrari and, by the way, with my wife, too.
It's on! I accepted the challenge. And as you all know, I really love challenges. It seems as if my fans would love them, too."
